I always had dry, damaged, brittle hair. Hoping to find a solution so I could experience the long mermaidy locks of my dreams, I began to read a lot about hair, which lead me to a lot of information about shampoo and conditioners. It turns out, there’s a lot of crummy ingredients hiding in my makeup, shampoo, and body products that I was using, some of the ingredients are known to be carcinogens. Yuck! I immediately decided that from then on, I would only cleanse and nourish my hair with products that I knew were made with wholesome ingredients, and are free of toxic chemicals, dyes and fragrances.
Goodbye Pantene, and hello Puna Noni Naturals!
Ok, I never really used Pantene, but you get the point. Most of these big beauty brands are all owned by the same company anyway!
Growing up in Hawaii, I feel that I’ve been able to try a lot of local products that the whole world would love if they ever knew it existed. Allow me to introduce you to Puna Noni Naturals, my regular go-to when it comes to my hair.
Natural Shampoo & Conditioner at a glance:
This company makes their shampoo and conditioners with exotic, natural and organic ingredients like:
- Hawaiian Noni Fruit Juice,
- Hawaiian Noni Seed Oil,
- Nettle Leaf Extract,
- Coconut Oil
- Pumpkin Seed Oil
A few other noteworthy things about these products! They are:
- 100% Biodegradable (aka safe to use in rivers and oceans!)
- Paraben and SLS Free
- Dye & Color Free
- Soy & Gluten Free
- Synthetic and Fragrance free
Why my hair is loving them
Since using these natural shampoos and conditioners, my hair has been so much shinier and healthier, and I’ve experienced a lot less hair shed. Not to mention they smell divine, and will instantly remind you of the tropics. There’s been a couple occasions over the past year that I had to use a generic shampoo for whatever reason, and I immediately noticed more hair shed. I like to switch things up and occasionally I try different brands, but I always return back to Puna Noni.
What is your favorite brand of healthy, natural hair products? I would love to hear what you use!
